About Us: The 2 Bakers Behind the Cookies
Hi, we're Dianna and Nancy Gladstone.
We live in the house Nancy grew up in in Livonia, Michigan, with our spoiled dog Lucky. While he's a handsome fellow now, he wasn't in such great shape when we rescued him in 2020. He'd been hit and drug by a car, which broke nearly half his teeth, damaged his hips, and left him with several scars on his nose, ears, and neck. While his hips may still bother him when the weather is terrible, he's always happy to go for a walk around the neighborhood, roll in the grass, play a game of tug-a-war, or fetch the toy. He's even happier when he can con his way into second breakfasts, extra treats, and belly rubs.
While we technically have other careers (Dianna works in Information Technology, and Nancy is both an Accountant and Real Estate Agent), one of the things we love to do the most is bake, especially cookies! We've been known to bake more than 15 different varieties of cookies for our Christmas and Hanukkah Parties.
While our traditional drop cookies are wonderful, we're best known for our Decorated Sugar Cookies. Every time we've made a batch for one of our family or friends, they usually say the same thing, "Oh, these look too cute to eat!" Despite how cute they are, they can't resist taking a bite and then start raving about the taste.
How every batch is made
Every batch we make is from scratch using Dianna's Grandma Tatman's family recipe for Shortbread Sugar Cookies and decorated with royal icing that's not too sweet and soft enough not to hurt any teeth. We believe that the type of ingredients used matters. We only use real butter, pure Mexican vanilla, and high-quality baking flour.
Allergen-aware baking
We specialize in making custom allergen-free cookies. Having friends and family who have various dietary restrictions, we know how dangerous food allergies can be. That's why we take extra precautions when making our allergen-free cookies.
While our sugar cookie recipe doesn't include nuts, we are not a nut-free or allergen-free kitchen. Therefore, we cannot certify that they are allergen-free.
Over 500 cookie cutters, and counting
We have over 500 cookie cutters in various shapes and sizes and are always looking for excuses to buy more! So, if you have an idea for a cookie in a shape we don't have, we'd be more than happy to add a new cutter to our collection.
We've made custom cookies for birthday parties, graduation parties, baby and bridal showers, team banquets, cookie bouquets, and hosting gifts. We'd love to create something special just for you!
